The workshop

Hands working timber in a small workshop

Nicefind is one bench, a finishing room, and a short floor of pieces waiting to be collected. We upscale furniture that is already well made.

A piece comes in from a house clearance or a dealer we know. If the carcass is wormed through or the timber is too thin to repair, it does not stay. What remains is tightened, cleaned, and finished to a written note: oil, wax, paint, or a new cover.

Old English lettering on the site is reserved for the names of old pieces. Body text stays in a plain, crisp face so sizes and prices are easy to read.

Find

Victorian, Edwardian and mid-century carcasses with sound joints. We would rather have one oak settle than six softwood shelves.

Finish

Runners replaced, locks kept, tops sanded only as far as they need. Paint is mineral and mixed for that piece.

Sell once

No ranges and no repeats. The page is the piece. When it sells, another one is written up in its place.

What we will take on

  • Family pieces that need drawers easing or a fall repaired.
  • Covers on armchairs, if the frame is worth keeping.
  • Sideboards and dressers within van distance of Manchester.

The floor is open Thursday to Saturday. Other days by a short note, so the bench is not mid-glue.
